Steve is one of those individuals that Sam was immediately drawn to when they first crossed paths and since then, Sam has followed the captain into hell and back. He has a lot of respect for the other and cares deeply for his well being since he can sort of relate to what the other is going through in terms of loss and coping with a world outside of war. Those feelings are developing into more, though Sam isn't really hiding that fact, but no matter what happens, wherever Steve goes, he'll follow.

Despite not being the Natasha he knows from home, the similarities are there and she is another that Sam trusts without a shadow of a doubt. He has a lot of respect for who she is and while he may not know about her past, it's obvious she's seen things most haven't and he will never not be impressed at how she's overcome it all.

Chase is a very interesting character and Sam has taken a personal interest in him. There's something haunting the kid, that much Sam can tell, and while he's not about to force the kid to tell him anything, he hopes that maybe he can get through to him by just treating him like an adult, since that's what Chase seems to want. But, at the same time, Sam isn't about to just let Chase do some dumb shit either and won't hesitate to slap the kid upside the head if need be. He's out for trouble and Sam knows it; now he just has to figure out how to keep Chase from getting himself into any.

Like with Natasha, Sam has a lot of respect for what Melinda can do and who she is in general. She is the epitome of what SHIELD should be, in his mind, and he is in absolute awe of her. He hasn't had many chances to interact with her outside of getting his ass kicked and drinking but he plans to get to know her more if the chance arises as he feels he can learn quite a bit from her.

Sam has taken an interest in Jax because the other is something of a recluse and has a kid. He's not sure why the other keeps to himself so much and while he's not about to push, he does have every intention on checking in with the other from time to time, just to see if there's anything he can do. What little he has learned about Jax has him wanting to offer an open ear to the other whenever he needs it because it's pretty clear to Sam that the guy could use some venting time.

Given that he threw himself head first into helping Steve find and bring Bucky home in the long run, Sam has a personal interest in helping him recover and come back from what HYDRA did to him. Like he could relate with Steve, the same applies to Bucky in some manner--mostly the whole soldier thing and reintroducing one's self into society--and all the work he's done with veterans of all types has kind of prepared him to potentially deal with something like this. That and the other just seems sad everything Sam sees him and he wants the other to get a real chance at life.

One of the most surprising relationships that Sam has found himself with is the odd one he's got building with Loki. While initially really didn't want anything to do with the other, the AU event changed his attitude and he's gotten himself kind of invested in the other's well being as of late. He's very willing to give Loki a second chance, like New Dodge promises all it's residents, and he does his best to just kind of build a bridge between himself and the God.

While he hasn't had the chance to interact with her a whole lot yet, Sam has heard a lot about her from Steve and let's just say he has no intentions of ever making her mad because damn this girl is a tough one. She's got a really good head on her shoulders from what Sam can tell and he'd be interested to sit down with her and talk more about whatever may come up--though he would like to hear more about her time period.
